Springboard AI Bootcamp Alternative:
Skip the $10K Price Tag.
6 months at cohort pace with generic curriculum. Or 8-12 weeks of
personalized coaching that adapts to your background.
Why Springboard May Not Be
the Right Fit for Developers.
$10K or more for a bootcamp designed around career changers. Experienced developers pay the same price but skip half the content.
6 month programs move at cohort pace. Too slow when you already code, no flexibility to accelerate based on your background.
Generic curriculum covers basics you know while rushing through gaps you actually need. One size fits everyone, optimized for no one.
Personalized Coaching at a Fraction of the Cost.
The World-Class AI Engineer Cohort
Instead of paying $10K for a 6-month program designed for beginners, work with someone who assesses your existing skills, identifies your specific gaps, and builds a learning path around your background. Get job-ready in weeks, not months.

Meet Your Mentor
My aim has been the same for years: become a world-class AI engineer. Every career move I've made has been measured against that.
I started as a software tester on a $500/month internship in the Netherlands. Taught myself to code, learned to ship real systems, and worked my way to Senior Engineer at GitHub.
Then I left GitHub. I joined an AI research lab as Member of Technical Staff, where I currently build products for secure AI monitoring.
The cohort draws directly from my real experience so you can make progress fast.
I run this special cohort with only a few people because hands-on work with me is what it takes to bring you to become a world-class AI engineer.

AI Engineer
Built and deployed his portfolio piece, then landed the AI role
"The coaching played a huge part in my success. I focused on AI fundamentals, the certification path, and soft skills like professional writing. Having access to expert guidance gave me confidence during interviews and helped me feel I was on the right path.
I built my own platform (simple but functional) and deployed it on AWS. I used it in my portfolio and showcased it during interviews. The way complex topics were explained, especially the restaurant analogy for AI systems, really stuck with me. Focusing on doing the basics well was absolutely essential."

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the downsides of Springboard AI bootcamp?
Springboard is designed for career changers with minimal technical background. If you already have programming experience, you will pay $10K or more for content that includes weeks of basics you already know. The 6-month cohort model means you cannot accelerate even when material is review. The curriculum is standardized for everyone, so it cannot adapt to your specific background, skills, or career goals. For experienced developers, this often means paying premium prices for a suboptimal learning experience.
How does the cost compare to Springboard?
Springboard costs $10K to $17K depending on the program and payment plan. The cohort is a four-figure investment for 8 weeks of focused guidance. That is a fraction of Springboard's cost. But cost alone is not the full picture. Factor in 6 months of Springboard versus 2-3 months of coaching. The faster timeline means you can start earning an AI salary sooner, which often more than offsets the investment.
How much faster is the coaching alternative?
Springboard programs typically run 6 months at cohort pace. In the cohort, with guidance focused on your existing skills, most experienced developers become job-ready in 8-12 weeks. That is half the time or less. The difference comes from skipping content you already know, focusing exclusively on your gaps, and moving at your own pace rather than waiting for a Springboard schedule.
What about Springboard's job guarantee?
Springboard offers a job guarantee with specific conditions and requirements. Read the fine print carefully. The guarantee typically requires completing all coursework, applying to a minimum number of jobs per week, and being in specific geographic regions. Many learners do not qualify or find the requirements restrictive. Coaching focuses on making you genuinely hireable through practical skills and portfolio building, rather than relying on guarantee fine print.
Does coaching include career services like Springboard?
Yes, but more personalized. Springboard offers standardized career services to all students. The cohort includes resume review, portfolio guidance, interview preparation, and job search strategy tailored specifically to your situation. You get direct feedback on your materials from someone who knows your background, rather than generic advice from a career services team managing hundreds of students.
I've signed up for cohorts before and dropped out. How is this different?
It probably isn't, and you should hold the money. Most cohort dropouts are people who couldn't articulate what they were shipping when they signed up. That's why the consult exists, and why I turn down most applications. If we get on the call and you can't tell me what you'll have shipped at the end of week 8, I'll point you to the AI Native Engineer community until you can.
I'm not pivoting careers. I want to build a product. Does this still work?
Yes, the cohort works for people shipping their first serious AI system whether the goal is to land a senior role or to launch a product. The shipped system serves both equally well.
Do I need prior AI experience?
You need to be able to code in Python or TypeScript. Complete beginners can follow the classroom they get access to before the cohort sessions to come in well-prepared.
How much time will this take?
You'll spend 3 hours every Tuesday in the live session and roughly 3 hours of async work in between, for 8 weeks. The Tuesday session time is fixed.
What does it cost?
It's a four-figure investment that we discuss during the 30-minute consult, alongside whether the cohort is the right fit for your project.
Can I do this while working full-time?
Yes, most attendees do. The live session is one Tuesday a week and the async work fits around your existing schedule, as long as you can carve out roughly 6 hours a week.
Is there a self-paced Springboard option?
Springboard markets itself as self-paced within the 6-month window, but you are still following their predetermined curriculum at their pace. You cannot skip modules you already know or spend extra time on areas where you need more depth. True self-paced learning with coaching means the entire curriculum adapts to you. We assess your background first, then build a path that moves as fast or slow as you need.
I accept those who have the highest chance of success.
In the 30-minute call we discuss your goals and whether you are ready for the program.
